Dentist: Dr Luca Pomaré

Dr Luca Pomare is the principal dentist at Pomare Dental Group, where his practice is now focused exclusively on orthodontic treatments, including braces and Invisalign, as well as early intervention orthodontics with a strong emphasis on airway health.

Dr Luca completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Sydney, following a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours. Prior to dentistry, he worked for many years in a local Leichhardt community pharmacy and conducted research in paediatric asthma and respiratory medicines at the Woolcock Institute. This diverse healthcare background has strongly shaped his holistic, patient‑centred approach, particularly in understanding the links between airway development, facial growth and long‑term health.

His passion for early orthodontic intervention and airway‑focused care led to the founding of the MyoGrowth Academy, where he is dedicated to advancing education and outcomes in growth‑guided orthodontics. Dr Luca has completed a Post‑Graduate Diploma in Digital Orthodontics and has a special interest in clear aligner therapy, helping both children and adults achieve healthy, functional and confident smiles.

In addition to orthodontics, Dr Luca continues to provide dental implants and cosmetic dentistry, having undertaken extensive implant training in Australia, South Korea and through New York University. Due to increasing demand, he has intentionally refined his clinical focus to these areas and is proud to work alongside an exceptional multidisciplinary team at Pomare Dental Group, whose combined expertise allows every patient to receive comprehensive, high‑quality care.

Dr Luca is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Clear Aligner Society, and the International Team for Implantology. He has also volunteered his time providing dental care in rural Cambodia, supporting improved oral health in disadvantaged communities.

Outside the clinic, Dr Luca is rarely far from a sporting field or grandstand and enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two (soon to be three) young boys.
